Fraction to decimal
Divide the numerator by the denominator. Three divided by four equals 0.75. Some fractions terminate while others repeat, so preserve enough digits before rounding.
Decimal to percentage
Multiply the decimal by one hundred and add the percent sign. A decimal of 0.75 becomes 75 percent. The reverse conversion divides a percentage by one hundred.
Decimal to fraction
Use place value for the denominator and then simplify. The decimal 0.75 is 75 over 100; dividing both parts by 25 produces the equivalent fraction 3 over 4.
Compare in one format
Convert quantities to decimals or percentages before comparing. Keep the original fraction for exact work when a decimal repeats, and round only the final displayed value.
